Conti Echo Privacy Policy

Welcome to Continental Tire the Americas, LLC’s Conti ECHO mobile application (“App”). This Privacy Policy describes how Continental Tire the Americas, LLC (“CONTINENTAL”) uses and protects any personal information (i.e., information that can be used to identify You) that CONTINENTAL collects about You when You set-up and use the Service, as defined below. It also outlines how CONTINENTAL uses the information it collects about You. By using the Service, You agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, and consent to CONTINENTAL’s use of the information we collect through the Service.


Summary of Conti ECHO Service

The App provides a companion experience to Continental’s Online Complaint Handling system (collectively the “Service”). The App allows upload of photos during warranty complaint handling for tire products of the Continental Tire Division. After creating the complaint in the Online Complaint Handling system in ContiLink or ContiCarLink the photos can be attached via the CONTI ECHO App.

Personal Information CONTINENTAL Collects When You Sign-Up for the CONTI ECHO Service

CONTINENTAL may collect personal information that can be used to identify You individually, such as Your name, address, and e-mail address, when You register as a subscriber for the Service.


Personal Information CONTINENTAL Collects When You Use the Service

CONTINENTAL collects and stores the personal information You provide when You request any type of information from us, in print or electronic form. This includes location information when You request or submit information through the App. We use this information to fulfill Your information request, including providing access to the Service.


Mobile Device Access

We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device’s camera, contacts, microphone, reminders, sensors, SMS messages, social media accounts, storage, and other features. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.


Cookies and Web Beacons

We may use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, and other tracking technologies on the Application to help customize the Application and improve your experience. When you access the Application, your personal information is not collected through the use of tracking technology. Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can remove or reject cookies, but be aware that such action could affect the availability and functionality of the Application. You may not decline web beacons. However, they can be rendered ineffective by declining all cookies or by modifying your web browser’s settings to notify you each time a cookie is tendered, permitting you to accept or decline cookies on an individual basis.


How CONTINENTAL Uses Your Personal Information

CONTINENTAL employees may have access to Your personal information in order to provide the Service and respond to Your requests for information. We may also provide Your personal information to third-party vendors who supply CONTINENTAL with software applications, web hosting and other technologies or services necessary to supply the Service. Unless You give these vendors consent, they are only permitted to use Your personal information as needed to supply the Service.

Except as provided in this Privacy Policy, it is CONTINENTAL's policy not to provide third party access to Your information unless You provide written consent or as required (a) by legal process, (b) to maintain the security and integrity of the Service or to protect the security of any of our users, (c) in connection with a business transition involving CONTINENTAL as outlined below, or (d) to comply with applicable law. If CONTINENTAL receives legal process seeking the production of Your personal information CONTINENTAL will attempt to notify You (unless prohibited by law) as soon as possible so that You have reasonable opportunity to oppose the production in the legal proceeding.


Aggregated and Anonymized Information

We may remove identifying data from Your personal information and combine or aggregate it with other anonymized information for various uses, including to better understand how You and other subscribers use the Service and to enhance the Services. CONTINENTAL does not consider such aggregated or anonymized information to be personal information and may share such information with third parties.


Deletion of Your Personal Information

You may request deletion of Your personal information, but please note that we may be required to keep this information and not delete it (or to keep this information for a certain time, in which case we will comply with Your deletion request only after we have fulfilled such requirements). When we delete any information, it will be deleted from the active database, but may remain in our archives.


A Note About Data Hosting

The Service is hosted in the Germany, but Your information will be transferred, processed and stored under United States privacy standards. If You are a citizen of a country in or are accessing the Service from the European Union, Asia, or any other region with laws or regulations governing personal data collection, use, and disclosure that differ from United States laws, please be advised that through Your continued use of the Service, which is governed by U.S. law, this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use, You are transferring Your personal information to the Germany, and You consent to that transfer and our use of that information as provided in this Privacy Policy.


Business Transfer

In the event of a bankruptcy or a sale, merger or acquisition, CONTINENTAL may transfer Your personal information to a separate entity. That entity will be responsible for ensuring that Your personal information is used only for authorized purposes and persons in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.


Policy for Children

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 13, please contact us using the contact information provided below.


Do Not Track

Section 22575 of the California Business & Professions Code requires website and online service operators to disclose whether they honor web browser “Do Not Track” settings. CONTINENTAL currently does not support “Do Not Track” web browser settings, although we are reviewing the technical changes we need to make our site compliant with “Do Not Track” settings. Acceptance of Policy

By using this website, accessing the CONTI ECHO, or otherwise providing your personal information to CONTINENTAL, you signify your acceptance of our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please discontinue your use of the Service.


Modifications

CONTINENTAL may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time without further notice. If we change our Privacy Policy, we will post a new statement on our Site and change the date indicated at the bottom of the statement. You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy from time to time for any updates or changes. Please see our CONTI ECHO Terms of Use (available within the CONTI ECHO mobile application) for a more detailed legal explanation of our usages policies. Changes to the Privacy Policy become effective immediately upon notice to You. Notice may be given by posting the revised Privacy Policy on this website or by other means. Your use of the Service after notice constitutes Your acceptance of the revised terms.
